We are proud to announce our plans to assist the new AFL Cape York Girls House which will be opening in January 2019, by raising $35,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle required for school drop offs and recreational times.
The house will be purpose built to accommodate 45 female students and will work on the same 3 pillar approach already existing at AFL Cape York Boys House, Education, Wellbeing and Careers/Transition. The students attending will attend partner schools and have the opportunity to be involved in many out of school experiences, including sports, cultural pursuits and work or training.
Dealer Principal Shannon Marshall committing to Rick Hanlon to raise $35,000 for the new AFL Cape York House For Girls.
Our dealer principal Shannon Marshall said “We have an existing partnership with the boy’s house located in Cairns, and admire the support, sense of community and environment provided to the boys. We are excited and honoured to be able to support the new AFL Cape York Girls House in launching their new facility in 2019, so that the girls from remote communities will have the same opportunities available to them as the boys in terms of education and support.”
Currently our dealership has a number of community ties in the Cairns sporting community, but have taken a different approach to this partnership. Instead of the traditional donation or sponsorship relationship, the Pacific Toyota community have come together and decided that as a team they will raise the money together through a number of different fundraising opportunities.
Some of the ways currently that you can make a contribution to this cause are:
- Donate at our dealership by putting a contribution in the tins around the dealership
- Make a donation at the time of payment of your invoice for any purchases made with our company
